Anti aging - Your Opportunity to Have the Fountain of Youth
Living for a century or more might not seem attainable, but today it is not only possible to do just that, but to be in top health as well. Here are ten ways to stay healthy and fit, on into the century mark:
1. Maintain some kind of exercise program, even if it is going to the mall and walking around. Walking still is one of the best exercises with minimum stress to the body and contributes to anti-aging. Also, you can use small hand weights to tone up the body and possibly prevent osteoporosis. Housework helps us to move around and get things done and is a very good form of exercise.
2. Drink alcohol moderately or not at all and do not smoke. If smoking calms your nerves, find some other avenues that are way more safe to reduce stress and help anti-aging. One way to relieve stress is have a cup of Chamomile tea. It calms without any side affects. Rescue Remedy is a liquid you can take to reduce stress. Getting a good night sleep also helps our body and mind to rejuvenate itself and makes us less stressed.

3. Stay close with friends and relatives. Having a good friend is like gold. You can talk to them and tell them your secrets, goals or just plain talk. Older people often lose this because many of their friends and relatives die before they do and it leaves them isolated. Make friends with as many people you can who are younger than you. Also, always remember to forgive everyone, holding a grudge can make you ill, sometimes seriously.
4. KIS. Keep it simple. Take care of today, do not think about yesterday or tomorrow. Make the very best of today. It is a big factor in ant-aging. Also try not to watch television more than 5 hours a day. You can get caught up in depressing news or other distractions. Game shows are great for us to participate, as it allows us to use our brain. It is better than just staring at the television and being brain dead.
5. Eat sensibly, stay away from too much sugar and fats and maintain an average weight. Being overweight when you reach your later years puts a strain on your body and it can also put you in a wheel chair because you cannot carry the weight any longer. By eating five or six small meals a day, you speed up your metabolism, burn fat and lose weight. Check our website for good eating habits.
6. Have a relationship with a person of the opposite sex, even as a good friend. As people get older, their options run out to establish a personal relationship with a man or a women of the opposite sex. It is not impossible, but very difficult to do. There are so many more older single women compared to single men. We all need a hug once in a while to makes us feel wanted. If you are unable to have a special person in your life, then get a pet. Did you know that people with pets are less lonely and that stroking a pet can reduce blood pressure and stress levels? Also, you make sure that you stay healthy because you would not want to leave the pet alone if you die.
7. Try to volunteer. Do things for others in need and you forget about yourself. Read to adults who cannot see or read to children. Also take a class at a community college. It is a fact, you can teach old dogs new tricks.
8. Find out about herbs like Ginkgo biloba for anti-aging. I have done studies and have taken Ginkgo for over 20 years and have had my eye site and gray hair reversed and have lots of energy. It is a powerful antioxidant and unclogs arteries and is not just for memory. Learn more about Ginkgo and other anti-aging studies regarding herbs vs. prescription drugs on our website.
9. Have a positive attitude and outlook. Studies have shown that people with a positive attitude are less prone to viruses and get over things quicker. Negative people do get ill more often and that does help in anti-aging.
10. Laugh as a child. It is a fact that laughing reduces stress and lengthens life. A study was done recently at Johns Hopkins about patients who had laughter an they got better sooner than those who were depressed. Belly laughing benefits most of all to reduce your stress level, but adults rarely have a good belly laugh. Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone.
It has been proven in studies that if people would do at least half of the above ten habits, that they can live 15-20 years longer and healthier than those who do none of them. So look at the list and choose what you can do for anti-aging and look forward to a long, happy, healthy life.
